FIRST TIME BUYER?  You should have the assistance of an experienced attorney helping you through every step of the purchase.  Having used an attorney is your "insurance policy" that everything was done right and that you have clear title to the property.  You do not want to discover a title problem when you go to sell the house later.

NO REALTOR?  Then you definitely need a competent Real Estate Attorney.
